ABOUT CDFA

  • CDFA is promoting and developing the game of football in Coimbatore over 75years and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Football Association which is the Parent body. Presently the Coimbatore District Football Association is under the leadership of elected President Prof Dr Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan and elected Secretary Mr.T. Krishnamurthy along with other elected members It represents the players, referees and coaches in TFA and AIFF.
  • It spearheads the sports movement covering all areas pertaining to the promotion and development of game Football in the Coimbatore District through the development of proper and quality sports, providing facilities and programmes related to youth welfare. Apart from these, it takes up activities to bring in latest technologies and innovations in football in order to provide that winning edge to all Football players of Coimbatore District.
  • In charge of creating awareness among the public regarding the importance of Football, it also provides facilities for training, grooming of sports persons to meet international benchmarks and programmes related to youth welfare.
  • It conducts periodical competitions, leagues among the Football clubs in Coimbatore and to the Schools and Colleges Men and Women in the District of Coimbatore.
  • Football is growing by leaps and bounds in Coimbatore. Besides conducting football events for men and women and children of various age categories, CDFA has also been concentrating on the development of coaches, by organizing the different AIFF and AFC licensing courses, grassroots development programs, referees’ classes and many other football-related initiatives.

DFA Objects

  • To improve and popularize the game of football constantly and promote it throughout the District in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarians values, particularly through youth and development programmes in urban, rural and remote arears including Schools, Colleges and Universities.
  • To organize its own Annual Domestic, Inter district and Inter State Competitions.
  • To enforce the regulations and provisions drawn by TFA
  • To control every type of football in the district with appropriate steps to prevent infringement of the Statues, Regulations and Decisions of AIFF, TFA, or of the laws of the Game.
  • To prevent all methods or practices which may jeopardize the integrity of matches of the Competitions or give rise to abuse of Association Football.
  • To protect the joint interests of its members.
  • To raise funds, purchase or hold any property and or equipment or any interest in the same.
  • To organize children's festival of football and Inter-District and Inter-State Competitions from time to time.
  • To manage Inter-District sporting relations connected with all forms of Association Football.
  • To do all such acts as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of foregoing objects and for promoting and developing the game of football.

Objectives

  • To improve the game of football constantly and promote, regulate and control it throughout the territory of State in the light of fair play and its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, particularly throughouth and developmental programmes.
  • To organize competitions in Association Football in all its forms at National and State levels.
  • To draw up regulations and provisions and ensure their enforcement.
  • To protect the interests of its Members.
  • To prevent any infringement of the Statutes, Regulations, directives and decisions of FIFA, AFC and AIFF as well as the Laws of the Game and to ensure that these are also respected by its Members.
  • To prevent all methods or practices which may jeopardize the integrity of matches or competitions and give rise to abuse of Association football.
  • To control and supervise all friendly football matches of all forms played throughout the State.
  • To manage national sporting relations connected with Association football in all its forms.
  • To raise funds, purchase or hold anu property, equipment or any interest in the same.
  • To host competitions at National and other levels.
  • To organize Children's Festival of Football, National and International Competitions as authorized by the AIFF from time to time.
  • To act generally in the interest and welfare of Sportspersons, players, Referees, officials and the public.
  • To grant scholarships and monetary help to the families of Sportsperson especially of game of football in distress.
  • To do all such acts as are incidental of conducive to the implementation of the foregoing objectives and for promotion and development of the game of football.

About TFA

  • The TamilNadu Football Association (TFA) is a State Association registered with the Registrar of Societies Act. TFA is a member of All India Football Federation (AIFF) and so it is obliged to the Statutes, regulations directives and decisions of AIFF, AFC & FIFA. TFA is the parent body of 36 District Football Association (DFAs) in Tamil Nadu.
  • TFA’s motive is to promote & develop the game of football in Tamil Nadu. It believes in providing opportunities for aspiring players, enhancing coaching standards, and fostering a vibrant football culture within the state. Through various initiatives and programs, the GFA aims to create a nurturing environment that encourages participation, skill development, and excellence in football.
  • Apart from promoting the sport at the grassroots level, TFA has also been involved in hosting and supporting regional and national football events. By hosting tournaments and matches, the state aims to attract more attention to the sport and create a positive impact on the footballing landscape of the region.
  • Some of the tournaments conducted by the TFA are Tamil Nadu State League, Vittal Trophy, Champions Trophy - Universal Cup and TFA Shield. The major leagues in Tamil Nadu happen in districts like Chennai and Madurai. Chennai district league (Chennai Super League) is conducted by Chennai Football Association (CFA), and the Madurai district league by Madurai District Football Association. The Tiruvallur District Football Association conducted the Don Bosco - Fr. McFerran Trophy All India football tournament sanctioned by the Tamil Nadu Football Association and All India Football Federation (AIFF)
